What it's all about..
So you may have stumbled upon this blog either through directly or indirectly being informed by me of it's existence - or you've got one of the journals in your possession. This whole thing has been inspired by a few different things. Firstly, The 1,000 Journals Project.. which you can google and check out if you don't know what it is. Secondly, I've been hanging out with alot of musicians lately and have heard of and observed how much they collaborate and are really supportive and inspirational to eachother - something I feel has been lacking in my art experience, and possibly in most people's experience with visual arts. This seems like a great opportunity to create something together, and looking through the pages that our fellow classmates create, it might inspire us to explore new methods and content with our personal work. The third and final reason for pulling this whole thing together - the big incentive to finally put it in motion, is the possibility that this could be something really great; as most of you know the graduating class each year has a book of some sort printed with a piece of work from each graduating student. But wouldn't it be great to have something that shows where everyone has come from and the progress we've made over our time at Sheridan? This final reason is why my only 'rule' is to keep this project within our year and program. Following 1000journals.com , I'd like to periodically have pages scanned and posted on this blog to chart the progress, if anyone has any suggestions to further improve, I'm all ears..
For now, do what you want in those pages. There will several cycling around so you will get multiple opportunities to draw, paint, glue, tear... whatever.
Spend a night and pass it on.
